Collaborative Planning Session for Somali Federal Government Agencies

The Somali Federal Government hosted a collaborative planning session in Mogadishu today, bringing together officials from various ministries and agencies. The session, organized by the Ministry of Planning, aimed to ensure alignment of agency strategic plans with the overarching National Development Plan.
Muuse Maxamed, Head of the Planning Unit, emphasized the importance of the meeting, stating, “Today, we have gathered to collectively plan and coordinate our efforts for the entire upcoming year. We must align our work with the National Development Plan and prioritize areas of focus outlined by the government.”
Mohamed Shire, the Director-General of the Ministry of Planning, provided further context, explaining, “This annual exercise allows us to consolidate the strategic plans of all government agencies under the umbrella of the five-year National Development Plan. As you are aware, we are currently in the process of finalizing the National Development Plan for 2024-2028.”
The collaborative session will ensure that individual agency plans complement and contribute to the broader national objectives. Participants will discuss and align their strategic priorities, resource allocations, and implementation timelines to create a cohesive and impactful government-wide plan.
By fostering collaboration and coordination among various agencies, the Somali Federal Government aims to maximize the impact of its development efforts, address critical challenges, and drive sustainable progress for the nation.
