In a proactive move to bolster community security, the Hodan District administration in Mogadishu, Somalia, recently held a public forum to discuss security enhancement strategies and foster collaboration with residents. The event, held at the Ahmed Gurey area of Hodan District, brought together community members, neighborhood leaders, and district officials.
During the forum, attendees raised concerns about various issues, including cleanliness, road maintenance, and youth engagement. Ahmed Siciid Cumar, the head of security and politics for Hodan District, and Hassan Ciro, the chairman of the Ahmed Gurey area, jointly highlighted the administration’s efforts to improve security measures.
Recognizing the importance of community involvement, the officials emphasized the need to visit each neighborhood, listen to residents’ concerns, and gather their insights. They acknowledged the active participation of the Ahmed Gurey community in responding to the call for this forum.
One of the key issues discussed was the misuse of public spaces by youth, particularly the water drainage area. Residents called for immediate action to address this concern and restore order through community-driven initiatives.
Ali Ahmed Farah, the district commissioner of Hodan, reassured the attendees that their concerns would be addressed by the administration. He pledged to prioritize the issues raised, including road maintenance, drainage system improvements, and youth engagement programs.
The forum highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the government and the community in ensuring a secure and prosperous environment. By fostering open dialogue and actively involving residents in decision-making processes, the Hodan District administration aims to create a safer and more inclusive community for all.
