The Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia has taken a significant step towards enhancing the knowledge and skills of Somali girls. Today, they launched an educational scholarship initiative designed to benefit 3,000 young women.
These girls will receive training in various skills, as announced during the event showcasing this educational opportunity. The event was attended by the Minister of Education, the State Minister of Education, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Members of Parliament, the Director of Education for the Banadir Region, the Deputy Chairperson for Social Affairs of the Banadir Region, university leaders, and other dignitaries.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Hassan Mohamed Ali, and Aasha Mohamed Hassan, the head of the Rajakaaba project, highlighted the importance of this initiative in providing opportunities for Somali girls to access education and acquire essential skills.
The Director of Education for the Banadir Region, Mohamed Yusuf Nur, and the Deputy Chairperson for Social Affairs of the Banadir Region, Abdiasis Osman, welcomed the initiative, expressing their delight that 3,000 girls would receive educational scholarships.
The State Minister of Education, Nur Mustaf Mukhtar, and Member of Parliament Nad Saalax emphasized that this project would benefit 3,000 girls, which is crucial for their education and future prospects.
Finally, the Minister of Education, Faarax Sheikh Abdulqaadir, stated that providing educational opportunities to 3,000 girls is essential, and they must take advantage of this opportunity as intended.
The government’s initiative aims to empower Somali girls by providing them with access to education and equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in various aspects of life.
