Hundreds of children from underprivileged families in Somalia have benefited from a recent distribution of educational supplies to schools in the Kaxda district and the Afgooye Refugee Camp. The initiative, spearheaded by the MD Organization, aimed to encourage education and foster hope for a better future among these disadvantaged children.
Ahmed Dirie Xalane, the chairman of the MD Organization, a non-profit dedicated to community development, provided insights into the motivation behind this endeavor. “Today, we visited two schools – one in the Kaxda district and the Afgooye Refugee Camp. We brought pens, books, and small notebooks to cater to their dire need for educational materials,” he explained.
Xalane emphasized the deplorable conditions faced by these children, many of whom lack even basic necessities like desks or chairs in their classrooms. “These children are in dire need of support,” he said. “We pooled our resources and efforts to provide them with the means to learn and grow.”
The distribution of educational supplies was met with overwhelming gratitude from both students and teachers alike. Mohamed Nur Abdulqadir, a student, expressed his appreciation, saying, “Today, the MD Organization visited us and brought us books. With these books, we will be able to learn various subjects like Mathematics, Somali, and English.”
Ali Nur Mohamed, another student, echoed similar sentiments, “I am grateful for the books and pens we received today from the MD Organization. They have provided us with the tools we need to learn.”
Habiba Sheikh Hassan, a teacher at the Banaaney Refugee School in the Kaxda district, commended the organization’s efforts. “The MD Organization has consistently supported us. Today, they brought supplies that our students desperately needed, and the children were overjoyed to receive even these small items.”
Nur Abdulqadir Mohamed, a student representative, also expressed his gratitude, saying, “Today, the MD Organization visited our school and brought us pens, books, and other learning materials. We are thankful for their support.”
The distribution of educational supplies is a testament to the power of collective action in addressing the challenges faced by underprivileged communities. By providing these children with the tools they need to learn, the MD Organization has not only offered them a chance at a better education but also instilled hope for a brighter future.
As Ahmed Ibrahim, another student, eloquently stated, “The MD Organization visited us today and brought us books, pens, notebooks, and pencils. These supplies will enable us to learn and pursue our dreams.”
The impact of this initiative extends beyond the immediate provision of educational materials. It serves as a reminder of the transformative potential of education and the importance of investing in the future of underprivileged children. By empowering these young minds with the tools for learning, the MD Organization has taken a significant step towards creating a more equitable and prosperous society.
