In a pivotal gathering organized by the Ministry of Internal Security, government officials, security forces, and diverse community representatives from Buulobarde District in Hiiraan Region convened to assess security threats and fortify cooperation between citizens and law enforcement agencies.
Mukhtar Mohamed Abdullahi, the Director-General of the Hirshabelle State Administration, was among the key participants, emphasizing the paramount importance of fostering collaboration between the community and security forces to ensure overall safety and stability in the district.
“When it comes to the security situation in the country, Buulobarde District stands out as one of the safest and most secure areas compared to other regions and districts,” Mukhtar Mohamed Abdullahi stated. He commended the dedicated efforts of the young and vigilant security personnel who have made significant strides in countering the Al-Shabaab threat, apprehending criminals involved in robberies, drug trafficking, and other illicit activities.
Hassan Mohamed Abdi, the District Commissioner of Buulobarde, echoed similar sentiments, expressing his appreciation for the community’s unwavering support and collaboration with security forces. “It is crucial that the different segments of the Buulobarde community maintain close ties with the security agencies,” he emphasized.
The officials acknowledged that since the liberation of the town from Al-Shabaab’s control, the district has witnessed a remarkable improvement in security due to the strong partnership between citizens and law enforcement. However, they stressed the need to further strengthen this bond to address any potential gaps or weaknesses that could undermine the hard-earned gains.
Zakariye Ali Raage, a local journalist, highlighted the transformative impact of enhanced security on various aspects of life in the district. “When security is strengthened, it boosts economic activities, facilitates free movement, and fosters educational and healthcare progress,” he stated.
The meeting focused on strategies to bolster intelligence gathering, community policing initiatives, and early warning systems to prevent security breaches. Participants also discussed the importance of addressing socioeconomic factors that could contribute to instability, such as unemployment, lack of educational opportunities, and limited access to essential services.
Recognizing the vital role of the community in maintaining peace and security, the officials called upon citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or potential threats to the relevant authorities. They emphasized the need for continuous dialogue, trust-building measures, and joint efforts to tackle the challenges faced by the district.
As the meeting concluded, both government representatives and community leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working hand in hand, leveraging their collective resources and expertise to safeguard the hard-won stability in Buulobarde District and pave the way for sustainable development and prosperity.
