The district administration of Galkayo in the Galmudug regional state has organized a two-day community consultation to discuss land issues and urban development in the city. The event brought together the district mayor, Abdirrahman Sheikh Hassan Jimcaale, council members, community representatives, engineers, land experts, elders, intellectuals, businesspeople, women, and youth groups.
The primary focus of the consultation is to develop a unified land management plan for Galkayo, resolve land disputes, protect the city’s roads, and enhance the cleanliness and beautification of the district. During the opening session, the mayor highlighted three key areas of concern: land management, road protection, and urban beautification. He stressed the need for a collaborative approach involving all stakeholders to find sustainable solutions.
Participants engaged in discussions and shared their perspectives on the proposed agenda items. The first day of the consultation concluded with an open dialogue, laying the groundwork for further deliberations and decision-making on the following day.
