In the town of Guriel, located in the Galgadud region of Somalia, an annual commemoration event is held to honor the life and teachings of Macallin Cali Cabdi Xirsi, a revered Quranic scholar renowned for spreading the teachings of the Holy Quran.

One of the highlights is the speech delivered by Sheikh Cali Nuur Cilmi, who shared the remarkable history of Macallin Cali’s dedication to propagating the Islamic faith.
“He was a true teacher of goodness,” Sheikh Cali Nuur Cilmi proclaimed, reminding attendees of the importance of honoring righteous individuals like Macallin Cali and his peers. “We pray that Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala makes us among those who strive to revive the teachings of the Quran, just as these scholars did.”
