In the district of Xudur, the capital of Bakool region, a grand celebration was held to honor the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Somali Police Force. The event paid tribute to the police officers, their families, and the various branches of the Somali security forces that have served the nation since its inception in 1943.
The Somali Police Force, known as the guardians of law and partners of the community, plays a crucial role in maintaining order and security. However, the police contingent stationed in Xudur is in need of reinforcements and capacity-building efforts to effectively carry out their national duties, especially as the city continues to grow in population and expand.
During the event, police officers from the Xudur district showcased their skills through a parade held within the police compound. The ceremony was graced by the presence of General Abdullahi Hassan Abdule Qadafi, the commander of the Bakool regional police unit, who received a salute of honor.
As the Somali Police Force’s headquarters in Xudur commemorates the 89th anniversary of its establishment, the officers demonstrated their readiness and commitment to fulfilling their duties. The regional police commanders of Bakool extended their congratulations and well-wishes to the entire Somali Police Force.
“The Somali Police Force is present in every region, district, and corner of the country,” stated a police officer during the event. “I have witnessed their dedication firsthand. They are prepared to confront any enemy, including Al-Shabaab, and protect the community from minor disputes and conflicts. The police force in Puntland, for example, has over 20 stations, and they are praised for their efforts in maintaining peace and stability in various areas.”
The officer continued, “We extend our warmest congratulations to the leaders, commanders, deputy commanders, and all ranks of the Somali Police Force. Although they face challenges, they have persevered and succeeded in their mission, guided by the blessings of God Almighty. We share in their joy and pride.”
Highlighting the close relationship between the police and the public, the officer added, “The Somali Police Force works tirelessly for the people, earning their trust and cooperation. The public has witnessed their efforts and expresses gratitude for their service. This mutual trust and collaboration between the police and the community is commendable.”
The national media in Xudur covered the event, showcasing the unity and appreciation for the Somali Police Force’s dedication to protecting the nation.
