Somalia’s capital Mogadishu is hosting a groundbreaking three-day summit aimed at endorsing a comprehensive judicial strategy that will guide the nation’s justice sector for the next five years. The high-level gathering, attended by senior federal and state officials, the Attorney General, Chief Justice, and representatives from legal institutions, marks a significant milestone in Somalia’s efforts to bolster its judicial system and uphold the rule of law.
The summit’s opening session witnessed addresses from the Somali National Army Spokesperson, the Hirshabelle State Justice Minister, and the Federal Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Hussein Haji. They underscored the pivotal importance of this initiative, which has been in the making for an extended period. Minister Hassan Hussein Haji, who has spearheaded the strategy’s development, expressed his honor in contributing to and endorsing the 2025-2030 Judicial Strategy for Somalia.
Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed commended the extensive efforts undertaken to reach this momentous occasion. He highlighted the crucial role played by Minister Hassan Hussein Haji and his team in leading the formulation of the strategy, emphasizing the necessity of a well-defined roadmap for the justice sector’s advancement.
