Attendees from various clans in the Banadir region assembled to offer prayers for Governor Amir’s success in his new role. The event commenced with Quranic recitations, with supplications for peace, stability, and prosperity to prevail across Somalia.
One participant, taking the stage, expressed his endorsement for the new governor, stating, “Today, we have united to support and welcome the new Governor of Banadir region, Mohamed Ahmed Amir, who is also the Mayor of Mogadishu.”
The speaker then shared his personal experience working alongside Amir from 2003 to 2006, describing him as a capable and honest individual dedicated to transparency. “Amir is a knowledgeable person with expertise in economics and education, having worked for international organizations and local institutions for an extended period,” he added.
The gathering was met with enthusiasm, as residents welcomed the opportunity for positive change under Amir’s leadership. “We are delighted to support and welcome the new governor, Mohamed Ahmed Amir,” another attendee remarked. “We extend our gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, for his wise choice in appointing Amir, whom we fully endorse and welcome.”
