Restoring Hope and Rebuilding Lives in Liberated Areas of Somalia

The Somali government and security forces have made significant strides in liberating areas from militant groups and restoring hope to local communities. In the regions that have been freed from the grip of the enemy, efforts are underway to ensure the safety and revitalization of the residents.
First and foremost, profound gratitude is extended to the Somali National Army for their unwavering dedication and immense sacrifices in liberating their nation from the scourge of extremism. Many have lost their lives, while others have sustained injuries in the line of duty. Their bravery and commitment deserve the highest praise.
The Somali government, over the past two years, has also played a crucial role in these liberation efforts, and their efforts are commendable. There is optimism that with the ongoing operations, more victories will be achieved, Allah willing.
To date, approximately 28 villages or districts have been liberated, areas that had been under the control of militant groups for nearly a decade or more. During this period, the local populations were deprived of basic rights and essential services, such as healthcare, education, and freedom of movement.
However, with the liberation of these areas, a new dawn has emerged. The government has swiftly responded by providing immediate aid, including food, water, and other necessities. Furthermore, efforts are underway to rebuild the essential infrastructure that was previously lacking.
In some areas, schools and hospitals have been constructed, while in others, water wells have been dug, and roads have been repaired. The Ministries of Interior, Security, and Justice are collaborating to establish local administrations, ensuring the rule of law, security, and the provision of essential services.
While the liberation efforts continue, the government has pledged to extend similar support to newly liberated areas. Initially, security forces will remain vigilant to maintain stability, followed by the implementation of reconstruction and development programs.
The local communities in the liberated areas are urged to take inspiration from the resilience and determination displayed by their predecessors. They are encouraged to seize the opportunity to rebuild their lives, restore their dignity, and actively participate in the development of their regions.
No one will be left behind, as the security forces are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. Their dedication and sacrifices will not be in vain, as the government remains steadfast in its commitment to rebuilding and restoring hope to every corner of the nation.
