Restoring Vision: A Free Eye Camp Transforms Lives in Mogadishu

In a remarkable initiative aimed at improving access to essential eye care services, the Banadir Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Mogadishu is set to host a free eye camp from November 20th to November 24th, 2020. This life-changing event is a collaborative effort between the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) and the Somali Ministry of Health and Human Services.
Announcing the Eye Camp
During a press conference, Fartun Sharif Mohamed, the Director-General of the Banadir Maternity and Children’s Hospital, enthusiastically welcomed the Somali community to participate in this groundbreaking initiative. “We are delighted to announce the launch of the eye camp project, a campaign focused on eye examination, treatment, and vision restoration,” she stated.

The eye camp, which will be held within the premises of the Banadir Hospital, is a part of the broader “Al-Noor” project, a vital endeavor aimed at providing essential healthcare services to those in need. Mohamed emphasized the significance of this opportunity, stating, “This is a crucial project that will offer free services, God willing, during the designated period.”
