A national Somali aid agency, Tadamun, has delivered a crucial aid package consisting of clothing and essential supplies to 100 families living in makeshift shelters in the Weydow and Sheikh Ibrahim neighborhoods of Garasbaley District, Banadir Region.
The relief package, provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was distributed to the most vulnerable families in dire need of assistance.
Ibrahim Abdulqadir Mahmoud, the project manager of the King Salman Center, and Mohamed Amin, the center’s development projects coordinator, oversaw the distribution process. According to Tadamun, the aid package included warm clothing, solar-powered lamps, and other essential items.
“Today, we are distributing food items, clothing, solar lamps, and other necessary supplies to the displaced families living in informal settlements in the Weydow and Sheikh Ibrahim areas of Garasbaley District,” Mahmoud explained.
He emphasized the significance of this aid, stating, “This relief will undoubtedly improve the lives of the displaced families residing in this area.”
The acting security chief of Garasbaley District, who was present during the distribution, commended the efforts of the King Salman Center and Tadamun for their support to the underprivileged communities.
“Today, we are in Garasbaley District, specifically in the sixth district, where we have gathered displaced families from various backgrounds. On behalf of the district administration, I extend my gratitude to the National Refugee Agency and Tadamun for providing this valuable assistance to the community,” he said.
