This initiative is part of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s broader vision to transform Somalia into a greener and more livable nation. Dr. Mohamed Jafar Ali emphasized the importance of creating a serene and healing environment for patients, stating, “We aim to make Mogadishu and all parts of the country safe and environmentally friendly.” He expressed gratitude to MP Abdirrahman Dheere and the Green Somalia Initiative for facilitating the planting of 100 trees, including fruit-bearing varieties that will provide nourishment and shade for patients and visitors.
The tree-planting project at Laasooleeti Hospital is a significant step towards achieving the President’s goal of a greener Somalia. Dr. Farakh Mohamed Sharawe, the Director of the Drug Management Department at the Ministry of Health, praised the hospital’s progress and expressed his delight in contributing to the revitalization of the maternity ward.
