In a show of support and appreciation, three Somali ministers visited an injured police officer at the Madina Police Hospital in Mogadishu. The ministers, including Mohamed Abdi Maareeye, the Minister of Internal Security, commended the bravery and professionalism displayed by the security forces, particularly the injured officer.
The incident that led to the officer’s injury occurred the previous day when he was shot during a police operation. Despite the severity of the situation, the officer’s actions were praised for upholding the honor and integrity of the Somali Police Force.
During the visit, Minister Maareeye expressed his gratitude to the entire Somali Police Force, from the top leadership to the rank-and-file officers. He emphasized that the officer’s conduct reflected positively on the entire force, bringing pride and honor to the nation.
“If this officer had behaved inappropriately, it would have brought shame to the entire police force, from the top leadership to the lowest ranks,” Maareeye stated. “However, his actions have brought honor and respect to the nation, and for that, we extend our appreciation and support to the police leadership, the unit he belongs to, and the individual officers who demonstrated exceptional courage.”
The ministers also took the opportunity to assess the condition of the healthcare facilities at the Madina Police Hospital. They expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness, organization, and overall professionalism observed during their visit. Minister Maareeye commended the hospital administration and staff, encouraging them to maintain their high standards and commitment to providing quality care.
“We came here expecting to witness potential issues, but instead, we were pleasantly surprised by the hospital’s cleanliness, organization, and the dedication of the staff,” Maareeye said. “We extend our congratulations to the hospital administration and encourage them to continue their excellent work in serving the needs of our security forces and the broader community.”
The visit not only highlighted the sacrifices made by Somali security forces in maintaining law and order but also underscored the importance of accessible and well-equipped healthcare facilities. The ministers’ presence and words of appreciation served as a morale boost for the injured officer, the security forces, and the healthcare workers dedicated to their recovery and well-being.
As Somalia continues to rebuild and strengthen its institutions, incidents like these demonstrate the nation’s commitment to recognizing and supporting those who put their lives on the line for the greater good. The visit by the ministers symbolized the unity and resilience of the Somali people in overcoming challenges and working towards a more secure and prosperous future.
