In a move to strengthen the peace process and ramp up security operations against militant groups in the Qoryoley district of Southwest State, authorities have provided a significant livestock donation to local security forces. The donation, consisting of two herds of livestock, was facilitated by the Southwest State administration and handed over to the security personnel during a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials.
Brigadier General Abdi Ibrahim Shaamow Abdi Dheere, the overall commander of the Southwest State Police Force, and Barre, the district commissioner representing the traditional elders and local administration, were present at the handover event. Addressing the media, Barre emphasized that the livestock donation from the state administration was aimed at boosting the morale and operational capabilities of the security forces.
“This donation is a gesture from the state administration to encourage and support the security forces in their efforts to eradicate the threat posed by terrorist groups operating in the area,” Barre stated. He urged the security personnel to intensify their operations against these destabilizing elements, emphasizing the importance of restoring peace and stability in Qoryoley.
The security forces, comprising both the district’s defense forces and the Southwest State’s Darwish forces, received the livestock donation with gratitude and a renewed commitment to their duties. The ceremony was marked by a sense of unity and camaraderie among the officers and troops, who pledged to work together towards the common goal of securing the region.
Barre expressed optimism that the donation would serve as a catalyst for further cooperation and coordination among the security forces, enabling them to effectively tackle the challenges posed by militant groups. “We hope that this gesture will strengthen the unity and resolve of our forces, allowing them to work hand in hand and ultimately restore peace and security in the region,” he added.
The livestock donation comes in the wake of recent efforts by the Southwest State administration and the federal government to resolve long-standing inter-clan conflicts that have plagued the Qoryoley district for months. The security forces have been tasked with playing a crucial role in maintaining law and order and ensuring the successful implementation of the peace process.
As the region continues to grapple with the threat of militant groups, the authorities’ decision to bolster the security forces through this livestock donation underscores their commitment to addressing the challenges head-on. By strengthening the operational capabilities of the security personnel, the administration aims to create a more secure environment conducive to lasting peace and stability in Qoryoley.
