Strengthening Somalia-China Parliamentary Ties for Mutual Prosperity

Somali Member of Parliament Sayid Ali Ishaaq Mohamed, who serves as the Secretary of the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of the People, recently met with the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia. The meeting focused on strengthening the ties between the parliaments of the two nations, particularly the foreign relations committees.
The Chinese Ambassador emphasized the long-standing friendship between China and Somalia, highlighting the importance of cooperation built on mutual trust and understanding. He affirmed China’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s efforts towards political stability, economic growth, and the development of key sectors.
Acknowledging the recent legislative milestones achieved by the Somali Parliament in promoting good governance and security, the Ambassador expressed China’s readiness to support these endeavors through practical assistance and cooperation.
MP Sayid Ali Ishaaq Mohamed expressed gratitude for China’s role in Somalia’s reconstruction and the support provided to various development projects, including infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
