Lt. Gen. Abdirashid Muhumed Usman, commander of the 43rd Division of the Somali National Army (SNA), conducted a ground visit to Ceeb Waaq district in the Gedo region. He was welcomed by security officials from various departments operating in the district, where he received a briefing on the security situation in the district and the overall conditions in the region.
The division commander commended the arduous work of the forces stationed in the district, emphasizing the imperative to continue fulfilling their national duties to protect the Somali people residing in those areas from impending threats.
Additionally, Lt. Gen. Abdirashid addressed the troops of the 301st Battalion of the 43rd Division stationed in Ceeb Waaq. He praised their service to the Somali people and highlighted that the time has come to eliminate the remnants of the insurgent militias operating in pockets of the Gedo region and the broader Jubbaland areas.
The commander’s visit underscores the Somali government’s commitment to enhancing security and stability in the region by confronting the militant elements that pose a threat to the local populations.
