Warm Welcome for New Deputy District Commissioner of Social Affairs in Balcad

The town of Balcad in the Middle Shabelle region of Somalia recently witnessed a significant event – the handover ceremony for the new Deputy District Commissioner of Social Affairs. Ahmed Mohamed Abdullahi Awadaad was warmly welcomed to his new role, with community leaders, government officials, and civil society organizations in attendance.
The event began with speeches from the District Chief of Balcad, Ugaas Mohamed Wali Ugaas Hussein, and the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Mohamed Abdullahi Yaqle. They expressed their gratitude for Yaqle’s service and wished Awadaad success in his new position.
Awadaad, who previously served as a judge in Balcad’s district court, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and pledged to work tirelessly for the betterment of the community. “It is a great honor for me to serve in this capacity,” he said. “Balcad is known for its hospitable and close-knit community, and I look forward to working alongside all of you.”
Several government ministers and members of parliament from the Hirshabelle State also attended the ceremony, highlighting the importance of the event. They emphasized the significance of peaceful transitions of power and urged the new commissioner to uphold justice and fairness in his work.
The District Commissioner of Balcad, Qaasim Ali Nuur, officially handed over the responsibilities to Awadaad, expressing confidence in his abilities and wishing him success in his new role.
As the ceremony concluded, attendees expressed their optimism for continued progress and development in Balcad under the new leadership.
